How do you get perfect teeth?

It’s quite simple, here are 7 little changes you can do that will give you perfect teeth. Just tweaking your oral health routine can improve the cosmetics of your teeth that will give you a smile to be confident about. Implementing techniques into your daily routine can help your teeth to last longer and look their best, it can also help you avoid painful issues that can arise from improper care.

Over the last few years we can see an increase in people paying for brighter, whiter teeth. But just painting a broken-down fence won’t make it look it’s best, the fence needs mending first, and the same can be said for your teeth. Remember you are beautiful no matter what, but your teeth can sometimes make you lose your confidence, start at the basics and get your teeth into shape and you will start to feel good about yourself again.

We are all busy and knowing how to care for our teeth the right way isn’t always easy along with conflicting advice can be confusing. Our 7 little changes to your routine will give you everything you need to do to make your teeth look and last better than ever. So next time you can visit your dentist with a big smile.

7 Little Changes that’ll Make a Big Difference to your Smile

1. Brush Twice a Day

Use a fluoride toothpaste twice a day for between 2 to 3 minutes. If you don’t brush them properly a film of bacteria will build up around the teeth causing plaque that could lead to gum disease and tooth decay.

2. Use the Correct Tooth Brush

The amount of force you use will affect the overall look and health of your teeth. The NHS advise that it doesn’t matter whether you use an electric or manual toothbrush, as long as you brush all the surfaces of all your teeth.

3. Check your Technique

Don’t just sweep the toothbrush around your mouth, hold the tooth brush at a 45-degree angle. Keep your brushing pace slow and gentle and make sure you reach the front, back and tops of your teeth.

Your dentist or hygienist can give you more advice based on your own dental health and needs.

4. Floss Daily

Start at the top of the tooth, be firm but gentle using a scraping motion between the teeth. If you find floss hard to use, you can try dental tape, which is thinner. Flossing is a great way to remove tartar and plaque that brushing sometimes can’t

Again, your dental team can advise you about using dental floss.

5. Cut down on sugar and acidic drinks

What you eat, and drink can cause tooth decay, so a healthy diet is important for your teeth.

6. Straighten Crooked Teeth

According to the NHS around a third of children need orthodontic treatment. There are different types of aligners which can be used to help with this, which can be either removable or fixed onto the teeth. Find out more on how we can help.

We also Get Asked:

Should I use an electric or manual toothbrush?

It doesn’t matter, electric or manual are both equally good, if you brush all the surfaces of all your teeth and you use fluoride toothpaste.

What type of toothpaste should I use?

It’s important to use a toothpaste with the right concentration of fluoride. Your dentist can help advise on this if you are unsure.

Should I use mouthwash?

Using a mouthwash that contains fluoride can help prevent tooth decay, but don’t do this straight after brushing your teeth or it’ll wash away the concentrated fluoride in the toothpaste left on your teeth. Try to choose a different time to use mouthwash, such as after lunch.
