
What Are Dental Crowns?
Dental Crowns also known as dental caps are mainly used to fit over and protect damaged, root filled or decayed teeth.Â
Crowns restore the tooth’s shape and size, strength and improves the overall appearance of the tooth and as such also improves overall eating ability.
A dental crown is normally used to restore single teeth but can be used in combination with a false tooth to restore gaps – this is know an a dental bridge (see below regarding ‘dental bridge’)
